Colour – primary palette

Last updated: June 28th, 2022

The Edwards primary brand colours help to cement our distinctive look in the marketplace. Red is our lead colour supported with dark grey and white. Radiating Red and the Silver, Aluminium and Mercury metallics are used to support the primary palette. They reflect our product range and are colours associated with sophisticated technology and engineering.

Edwards’ Red

This is the red used in our logo. It can be used sparingly for headings, lines and to highlight other information, or as background panels for the all white version of the logo and text.

Do not use shades of this red as they become a sickly pink.

Dark Grey

This colour is used for the pointer detail in our logo and for text on white or pale backgrounds.
Note; it is more blue than a shade of black, so do not substitute it.

Edwards Dark Grey can be used for panels and backgrounds, as a solid colour or in various tints.

Colour specification:
RGB
R 45
G 54
B 58

CMYK
C 20, M -, Y -, K 80

Pantone 7545C

Tints are fixed in 20% increments of the Dark Grey:
80%, 60%, 40% and 20%.
These can be used as background panels or when paler text is required.

Tints of the Dark Grey are also used to create the Edwards metallic gradients (see below).

Please note, Ral 7031 is for printed applications such as packaging, but your primary choice should be Pantone 7545C.

PRODUCT PAINT

We also have a generic dark grey Ral specification used only for product manufacture paint
Ral 7011 Iron Grey
This should NOT be used for printed applications.

The product paint for Edwards system cabinets, frames and pump box shells is: Ral 7035 Light Grey

White and transparencies of white can also be used to support the design.

Radiating Red

This is for background panels and to hold content. It also gives a greater impact of red across our communications. The radial gradient adds a depth and richness to the red and is designed to support Edwards’ Red.

See gradients to learn how to create this colour.

Metallics

These three metallic gradients work with the red. They can be used as background panels and to hold information. Tonal variation allows us to be sympathetic to other graphic elements and imagery. See the link below (creating gradients) which explains how to make these.

Mercury

Aluminium

Silver

We also use a Secondary Colour Palette which offers a range of colours for use in documents, charts and infographics. See the link below more information on these.
