Photography is a crucial part of our brand expression. It plays a key role in presenting our people, our products and the way we conduct our business.

Our photography principles and styles are a way to bring our brand to life. These should be used as a guide to ensure we create a consistent image of Edwards in the minds of our customers and business partners. No matter the budget or scale of the project, these principles can be applied.

Principles

Authentic

Our photography is real and genuine, not staged and unnatural. It should be true to life capturing moments and emotions.

Colour

Capturing our colours in imagery helps brand recognition. Including Edwards’ primary colours in photography is not mandatory. Strive to include them but not if the result feels forced or cannot result in a high quality finish. Avoid heavily saturated or heightened colour images.

Avoid black and white images, except when it comes to the use of heritage photography which is often only available in black and white. These images should be used with a specific purpose and message so that they have meaning and tell a story.

Perspective

We cover all angles creating dynamic and intriguing compositions. Unexpected emotional and personal viewpoints, extreme close-ups and focused detail invoke curiosity and surprise.

Safety

Ensure all health and safety considerations are observed e.g. subjects wearing correct PPE, nothing that can be perceived as unsafe in the image etc.
