Approach and approvals

There are three levels of video we create

1. External

High quality, professionally produced, these are for marketing purposes. They are suitable for posting on our website, YouTube channel and LinkedIn or used for customer presentations.

External videos should have a script and storyboard approved by the relevant Divisional Communications Manager or Customer Centre Communications manager/Specialist. Use the Video Brief one page form to clarify what you are aiming to communicate, then have your production agency create a fully scripted, visual storyboard for review, prior to commissioning production. This will save time and expense as production is costly.

Caution

We create written contracts with production agencies that release the copyright (IP) and original footage over to Edwards for reuse purposes and to avoid annual or ongoing royalty fees. If in doubt, talk to the brand team before locking into something that may limit the use of the video asset created. You must then ensure that the asset contract has been completed and is on file.

Once produced and the finished result is approved, your video can be posted.

2. Internal Communications

These videos are important for sharing company news and policies, for training purposes and to cover sponsored events with a news angle. All internal videos should have sign off from Divisional Communications Manager or Customer Centre Communications Manager/Specialist where appropriate.

3. Internal Functional

These are amateur/employee produced videos used for progressing internal technical projects and should not be used outside of the project scope.

Brand promise video end sequence

We now use a 14 second, animated sequence to end all of our external facing videos. It may also be added to internal videos if desired. Any music track in the film must accompany the sequence through to the end, when the Edwards copyright line appears.

External and internal videos should finish with the Brand Promise animated end sequence.

A master is available here:

Once finished and approved, External (1) and Internal (2) videos should be added to the Sharepoint repository.
