Our brand

Colour

Last updated: October 5th, 2021

Aristotle and Newton may have made scientific breakthroughs in colour theory but colour is not and can never be an exact science. No matter how hard we try, we can never achieve an absolute colour correlation.

For example, signage, made from plastic is almost never an accurate match for paint colours. Different printing processes, such as digital and lithography vary colour balance. Even RGB screen colours can vary depending on the app, programme or the device (many PCs have a bluer ‘white point’ than Apple products).

In every instance, you can only do your best to arrive at the best compromise.

Remember – our brand is a lot more than a Pantone specification. Elements such as our graphic rectangles, use of gradients and our typography – together with our Edwards colours, help to create our visual language. It is a combination of elements that convey the essence of our brand.
